Did you know? Tens! is out!

After a month of development and too many play sessions, I’m proud to present my take on Fruit Box.

It was the second time in my life that I felt the unstoppable urge to make a game. After seeing Pancelor’s Make Ten on the front page of itch.io, I simply fell in love with its elegant and clever game design. I couldn’t stop playing, and finding as many tens as possible, even after timeout, became my favorite pastime. It was so addictive!

On the other hand, I noticed one problem with the original game: it’s a time attack. I know that in Make Ten you can keep on playing until you run out of moves, but it’s not meant to be played that way. And I wanted that part of the game to shine because I deem it the most fun. I also wanted the game to tell me when there are no more moves to make, so I could stop banging my head on an unsolvable puzzle.

And I did just that: I turned time attack into a puzzle game, essentially creating a Fruit Box Solitaire. I just wanted such a game to exist, for myself and for other people with a similar taste for puzzles.

And now that it’s done, I plan to take a short break, write a couple of devlogs highlighting the most interesting parts of the development, and then maybe do some updates. Until then, I hope you’ll enjoy the game!

Ciao!
